Glenda’s 100th Challenge!

Glenda at Rock, Paper, Scissors is celebrating her 100th weekly challenge! I love her challenges and am excited to help her celebrate!

The challenge for this card was simple, just use red somewhere on your project.

Christmas Cards

Hello! Wow, it’s been so long since I blogged. Last time, I talked about how I was going to blog more frequently. I swear, every time I say that, it’s the kiss of death and I don’t blog for months! hehe!

Fin-Tastic Day

I’m trying to think of a little chatter to write before I go into the card deets, and I got nuthin’. My head is empty from a long day with the kids. Tired. Very Tired.

The images are from Fishy Fun by My Cute Stamps. The polka-dots and ribbon are by Stampin’ Up! The Wheat paper and sentiment are by A Muse. I added some rain dots over the bubbles for dimension and shine. The fishy is on a foam dot for dimension.

Oh, wait! I thought of some chatter! I met a friend for dinner last night. I was sick for pretty much all of September, so it was really nice to get out. I think we’re going to try to make it a weekly event. (Don’t tell my husband, we haven’t discussed that plan yet!) Anyway, I enjoyed some yummy Lemondrops with my dinner and snapped a pic on my iphone with the Hipstamatic app:

I should make some corny joke about drinking like a fish and bring the post full circle. Too tired. Nighty-night.

Signs of Fall

It definitely feels like fall lately. One sure sign is that the outside of my house is covered in spiders! The one pictured is a particularly large one that has taken up residence outside of my front door. He endeared himself to me when I noticed that he was catching wasps. From that moment, I was his biggest fan! Elsa loves him and we’ve had a lot of family fun throwing bugs in his web and watching him eat them! lol! We’re easily entertained. :)

Another sign of fall is Elsa going back to preschool. This is her second year, so I’m still a newbie to the world of teacher gifts. I need to make a stack of these, because birthdays and other gift-giving occasions seem to sneak up on me!

You may have seen this card already, it was a recent Card of the Week on the A Muse newsletter. If you don’t already receive it, you can sign up here. It contains specials, inspiration, and other fun info.

For the apple, I stamped it three times, then pieced the stem and leaf on to the apple. Sounds like a pain, but it only took a second and the effect is cute. To balance out that big, round, red apple on top, I added the round, red scallop on the bottom.

I’d love to hear about the signs that let you know that fall has arrived!

Chrysanthemum Note

Hello again! I’ve been posting a lot more lately, right?! I love it! I think two things have contributed. First, I’ve been sick for a couple of weeks, so I’ve had free time. Second, I moved my craft space!

We have a three bedroom house, so when I was pregnant with my second child, I had to move out of my craft room and turn it into a nursery. I took over a corner of the living room. It was dark and in the middle of the family chaos, I found it really hard to work there.

Fast forward to now, the kids are always playing together in Elsa’s room, so that second bedroom sat almost unused. I decided the kids can share a room while they’re little and I reclaimed that third room!

Oh, it’s a slice of heaven! The really cool thing is, the kids actually use the room now, too, because it’s the “art room”. Elsa has her own work table with her own supplies, and Tuffy has a tiny table with crayons, and an easel with chalk. We’ve all been spending hours in there together, it’s been awesome. :)

We have some remodeling projects and other things coming up that might keep me quiet this fall, but overall I’m looking forward to more frequent posting!

2011 A Muse calendars

Every year, A Muse offers digital calendars in various sizes for download. Proceeds benefit a worthy cause. This year, A Muse has chosen Charley’s Fund. Many of the A Muse Creative Team made calendars to provide you with some inspiration, and I was thrilled to participate!

My Project

When I saw the A2 size, I was inspired to make something special for my Mom. Rather than give her the entire calendar at once, I’m turning each page into a card and mailing them to her month by month. Inside, I’ll include a few of my childhood memories from that month or season. I think it will be something special that she’ll look forward to receiving!

The Cause

This year, the calendars will benefit Charley’s Fund. Amanda Beers is a long time A Muse fan. This past June, her daughter Charley passed away from a rare infection. She was only 6 years old. To honor her memory, the Beers family has established “Charley’s Fund” which will provide playground equipment and more at her elementary school in Olympia, WA. The Calendars

The A Muse Calendars are a download product only. Nothing will be shipped to you. They go on sale beginning 9/15 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific.

Calendar orders are only processed during regular business hours {monday to friday 8a to 5p}. Once your order has been processed, you will have unlimited access to the file(s) you have purchased.

The A Muse Creative Team is going to be sharing their ideas for these calendars all week, check them out on the A Muse Blog!

A Little Note

I used Leaf Frond II, Dill, Mini Flower, and Little Note, all by A Muse. I added a few pearls, also by A Muse.

I used Fresh Ink by Impress. A little strip of dsp and some SU! linen thread on the bottom.

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA Day 8

It’s the final day of our A*Muse*a*palooza sneak peeks! I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the new stamps!

For this card, I used the new Wide Eyed Owl, but added Santa Hat to him! I intentionally left him uncolored so that the red hat would really pop. I just wanted to try something different. :)

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA Day 7

Welcome to day 7 of A*muse*a*palooza!, a week of new reveals and in-store events all over the country!
This label stamp is part of a new cling-mounted set. I thought the leafy vine detail would go nicely with my Martha woodland branch punch. This label is very easy to color and to cut out, if you wish. This design could be a good choice if you make a lot of Christmas cards.

A*MUSE*A*PALOOZA Day 6

Welcome to day 6 of A*muse*a*palooza!, a week of new reveals and in-store events all over the country!
Today’s theme is “Winter Critters”. This is one of my favorite cards that I’ve made for the AP celebration.
As I said yesterday, I am loving the new Nutmeg paper for holiday cards! This non-traditional color scheme (nutmeg, vanilla, green) is really eye-catching, I think!
The decorative edge at the top is a Martha edger punch, woodland branch I think? I liked it so much, I added it to the card you’ll see tomorrow as well. :)
